I am really feeling the need to get back to some proper training but went for a run last week and my hamstring still didn’t feel quite right so along with the stretching I’ve been doing I am self-treating with therapeutic ultrasound. Now this isn’t the ultrasound that can see babies but instead uses sound waves to vibrate the tissues which in turn increases the blood flow to the injured area. This is good as it promotes tissue healing which is due to the increased blood flow bringing in oxygen and nutrients to the damaged tissue – ok science lesson over – now time for a quick bike ride!
